The Q opto system

Entry into consumption data recording with optical close-range interface

Description Q opto

You don’t have to do everything yourself
Q opto is a good solution if personal, regular contact with the tenant is desired because data is recorded within the tenant’s flat. The readout procedure, however, is made easier by an electronic readout of the meters in the flat and optimized with regard to error management and data transmission.

How Q opto works
More data can be read out using the Q opto system than is possible using the visual readout of the Q basic system. These are products with a close-range optical interface that can be read out using a corresponding unit.

Two different readout possibilities are offered through the optical close-range interface.
Q opto (IrDA)
Q opto (1107)
Both these readout possibilities require different readout equipment.

The IrDA interface makes semi-automatic readout possible via the opto-electronic interface (IrDA) by means of special readout units and software. Data exchange takes place by means of infrared light over short distances.

The optical interface on the basis of EN 62056 allows semi-automatic readout via the opto-electronic interface (1107) by means of special readout units and software. Data exchange takes place by placing a corresponding opto-head on the unit.

In this way, errors are avoided during readout and transmission of the displayed values to the billing program, and the meter-reader can compare the current consumption data with that of the previous year. In addition, all Q opto devices feature key date displays which means that they meet the requirements of the revised heating cost regulation valid since 1st January, 2009 in Germany.
