QUNDIS and PPC jointly present their smart meter gateway solution at the 2018 E-world trade show

QUNDIS GmbH and Power Plus Communications AG (PPC) are working in partnership on digitalising the energy turnaround. For this purpose the companies have developed a solution which provides smart meter gateways for applications in the residential housing industry and commercial properties.

From 6 to 8 February QUNDIS and PPC will be presenting their innovative system solution at their communal stand No. 3-132 at the 2018 E-world trade fair in Essen. The smart meter gateway enables secure communication with end devices within a wide area network (WAN). As a result various types of meter (e.g. electricity, gas, water, heating) can be read out for a number of different households. BSI-certified encryption ensures the highest level of data security. The bi-directional CLS interface of the smart meter gateway permits secure access to a range of applications, such as sub-metering and device management. Via an end-user interface users can also access their own metering data and information.

The smart meter gateway solution developed by QUNDIS and PPC opens up a wide spectrum of new possibilities to companies in the housing business, such as automated remote meter reading in real time, direct integration of data in backend and billing systems, information from customers and tenants, new business models created by data ownership, new services provided by the networking of various devices and metering data, all combined with more efficient installation and maintenance. The application of digital metering systems boosts the energy efficiency of buildings, which supports the objectives of the energy turnaround. The partners are also offering cooperation facilities to municipal utilities, operators of metering points and other service providers, who can use this solution to expand their service range.
