Heat meters by QUNDIS.

QUNDIS heat meters at a glance

The German metering instrument manufacturer QUNDIS produces heat meters with ultrasonic and impeller technology. Both device types are ideal system modules for measuring and recording heat consumption in heating systems with central heat generation. This means that the tried-and-tested heat meters in our Q heat series enable you to record the energy consumption of various heating, cooling, solar and hot water systems.

The Q heat series heat meters are particularly practical due to their compact design and simple operation. In its class our ultrasonic heat meter Q heat 5 US is the flattest unit on the market and, thanks to the removable calculating unit, can also be easily installed in particularly inaccessible places.

The current consumption, readout date and the readout date value can be conveniently recorded by the push of a button via a display loop.

Benifits

For a wide range of flow rates

This makes our Q heat series heat meters extremely versatile.

Radio or M-Bus system

Modern interfaces to our radio or M-Bus systems facilitate the recording of consumption data for the metering service. The meter is parameterised via laptop using the IrDA interface. Installation instructions can be found here.

Metering from 4 seconds

Our ultrasonic instruments deliver recorded values with a fast metering cycle of 4 seconds. The Q heat 5 basic impeller meters record in this mode every 6 seconds.

Very simple seal assembly

Thanks to the Selflock seal, your fitters no longer have to install their own seal. In addition, a serial number is already printed on the seal. This makes the work much easier.

A wide range of varian

Suitable for heating, cooling, solar and hot water systems, and available as both screw-type or metering capsule variants.

Suitable for glycol mixtures

The Q heat series heat meters can also be used to record the consumption of solar heating systems.

Electronic heat meter Q heat 5 / Q heat 5.5

Compact and versatile.

The Q heat 5 / Q heat 5.5 electronic heat meter is fitted with an IrDA interface as standard. It is available as a screw-type version and a measuring capsule version for the connection interfaces IST (G2″ – Ista),  A1 (M77 x 1,5 – Allmess) and TE1 (M62 x 2 – Techem). If data transmission is to be implemented by radio (Q AMR, Q walk-by) or by cable (Q M-Bus), the device can simply be retrofitted with an add-on module.

For special applications such as water heating we have equipped Q heat 5 / Q heat 5.5 with a fast measuring cycle. All volume meters are available in the established flow dimensions of 0.6 / 1.5 and 2.5 m3/h.

The optimized display loop: After pressing any key in sleep mode the display of the Q heat 5 heat meter now shows the current reading, the scheduled readout day and the scheduled readout value in a loop. This loop is repeated 10 times.  In order to simplify readout operations, a display test separates the display of the current value from the scheduled readout value. Readouts by tenants or untrained personnel have now become much simpler.

Heat meter variants Nominal flow rates
Screw-type 80 mm qp 1,5 m³/h
Screw-type 110 mm qp 0,6 m³/h and 1,5 m³/h
Screw-type 130 mm qp 2,5 m³/h
Measuring capsule Ista IST (G 2″) qp 0,6 m³/h, 1,5 m³/h and 2,5 m³/h
Measuring capsule Allmess A1 (M77 x 1,5) qp 1,5 m³/h
Measuring capsule TE1 (M62 x 2) qp 1,5 m³/h and 2,5 m³/h NEW

Heat meter Q heat 5 M-Bus / Impulse-IN

Perfect integration into M-Bus networks.

QUNDIS offers two new versions of its tried-and-tested Q heat 5 screw-type heat meter. The Q heat 5 M-Bus / Impulse-IN has integrated M-Bus and Impulse-IN communications interfaces. This enables up to 2 water meters to be integrated into an existing M-Bus network via a standard load. Thanks to the unique operating concept, parameterising the heat meters is child’s play. This significantly reduces the installation work and the cost of integration into an M-Bus network. The Q heat 5 M-Bus does without the Impuls-IN interface.

Because of their compact design and removable calculator unit, the heat meters are ideal for installation situations where space is limited. In its class, at only 63.6 mm the Q heat 5 M-Bus / Impulse-IN heat meter features the smallest installation height on the market.

Split heat meter Q heat split

For large volumes and high temperatures.

Our Q heat split heat meters consist of an electronic calculating unit, a volume meter and temperature sensors. They are unbeatable for large volume flows and high temperature loads.

Depending on the volume which is pumped, the measuring unit takes the form of a Woltman sensor or ultrasonic version. Connection with the pipe system is by means of a threaded or flanged connector. Saving and displaying values is the task of the calculating unit.

Other modern variants feature combined heat and cold metering (G13/14) or with adaptation for water/glycole mixtures for solar installations (G18/19). There are also device version available with an internal M-Bus module, retrofittable communication mounts or impulse out for integration into a remote meter reading system.

What is a heat meter?

A heat meter measures the energy consumed in the supply of a certain amount of heat or cooling. The device is mounted directly in the pipe network.

The process behind it is quite simple: Water is heated in a heating system. When a radiator is turned on, this water flows from the heating unit to the consumer through the heating circuit at a certain flow temperature. Each active radiator emits the heat of the heated water to the surrounding room. The water cools down and continues to flow behind the radiator in the return pipe. The temperature difference between flow and return is measured by the heat meter. The unit calculates the energy consumption from the temperature difference and the amount of water that has passed through.

FAQ

How can I read my heat meter?

Tastenbelegung_gb

With every electronic heat meter you can have the current and the annual consumption displayed. To access the menu you press the upper key twice and the lower key once. Level LO shows you current consumption, level L1 the annual consumption. With the upper key you can switch from level to level and with the lower key you can move from field to field within an individual level. To return to the menu from within a level you press both keys at the same time.

What is the meaning of the numbers and symbols on the display of the electronic heat meter?

We offer various types of electronic heat meters. The data sheets on our website will explain to you what appears in the display of your heat meter.
